Once the chapter starts, you'll find yourself inside the Flagard Fort. Explore the place to find useful items: - 1000 gold coins - inspect a
shelf. Note: the Phoenix Sword is the best weapon available in this Scenario to equip on Synbios, in my opinion. He will acquire the Phoenix LV2 summon spell, increased attack, increased magic power and a +30 resist bonus in Fire, Wind and Lightning elementals! Once you talk to everyone and get the items, you may leave the fort.
Now, more houses will be accessible and it will be possible to buy some goodies too. Items to find in the houses previously locked in Chapter Four: - Large Mithril - inspect a crate
near bed in the central house. In the shops, upgrade your weapons and watch out for the special items: in the Weapon Shop, you can buy a Talisman Rod (acquire Freeze magic) for just 2600 gold coins, in the deals section. Still in the Weapon Shop, bug the seller and insist until he sell you an Accurate Axe for 7000 gold coins. In the Acessory shop, you can talk to the merchant repeatedly until he sells you a White Ring (defense +10). If you want, you can go to the Smithy's House and make some Mithril Weapons. Note: My *very personal* opinion is to leave this to do in the last Chapter, since many good weapons will be found yet, being even better than some Mithril ones. Now you may leave the city.
This battle may seem easy at first, but expect it to be harder since many enemies will appear. This is going to happen in most battles in the game from now on, so prepare yourself to far tougher battles! Items to be found during battle: - Magna Glove - inside treasure chest hidden in
bushes. Enemies:
* About 6 Wyverns will appear during battle, in the
waterfall area.
You must head to the Lookover Tower to stop Fiale: he intends to kill Duke Palsis, but you have time to explore the city before face him. The following items can be found: - 1500 gold coins - shelf behind counter in the
weapon shop. The Weapon merchant will not be in his store, so you can't buy weapons for now. Instead, go to the Item seller and insist with her, until you get a Black Ring (5000 gold coins) and the Swift Boots (3000 gold coins)! Once you're done, go to the Lookover Tower, just enter the stone altar and go up stairs.
This battle is a long one. Be sure to stock up on healing items and use your MPs wisely! Of course, don't forget to explore the ruins and find the Ninja Hagane. Details below. Enemies:
*More appear during battle.
* Let the Thief open the locked chests and get the items. Then, go after him and attack... Inside tomb, explore and find: - Fairy Powder - inside barrel.
Note that if you cast Return during this battle you'll need to find Hagane again. Hopefully, you can do this after battle too (this is the only tomb in the game that you can enter after battle).
After the battle, Duke Palsis will guide you to the top of Lookover Tower. Talk to him, check the beautiful crystal and take your time on looking at everything. Be sure to find: - Dark Matter - inside treasure chest. After doing all this, go down, but I recommend you to DO NOT head to the Great Wall yet. Go back to the Lookover City, since some things have changed there after the battle against Fiale.
You can save the game now, ressurrect dead allies, change party members, etc. Note that the weapon seller is back to his store now, and there are lots of new weapons to buy. Remember to check the deals section for an Angel Wand (acquire Blaze magic, 3200 gold coins) and to bug him until he sell you a Counter Sword (12000 gold coins) and an Hunter X-Bow (13000 gold coins). Once you're done here, go back to the tower. If you didn't find Hagane yet, it's your last chance: enter the ruins and search the last pillar to the right. Now follow the path to the Great Wall and prepare for battle.
Again, a long battle awaits you. Remember to never underestimate the enemy... Murasame, the Ninja, will appear in this battle and help you, but he is computer controlled. His artificial intelligence tells him to follow Synbios, remember this. Note: He will join you later in the game, no matter if you let him die in this battle or not. Enemies:
* More appear during battle. Items you can find during battle: - Dark Matter - hidden in the ground, behind
the Golem. Use Eldar to fly over there and get it.
Murasame tells he was captured by Bulzome Sect and was forced to tell the Republic's defensive plans. Due to this, the Bulzome High Priests were always one step ahead of Synbios' forces. Murasame reveals too that Bulzome Sect has a powerful weapon to use, even bigger and stronger the flying Walcuray... He leaves your group and rushes to Malorie castle. Synbios and Duke Palsis decide to go shortly after, just entering Vagabond first to check out the supplies for next battle.
After the battle you'll be able to enter Vagabond, the nomad town. The city is the same as before, but you can find different items now... - Quick Chicken - inspect one of the stone
pillars at town entrance. Be sure to enter the weapon shop and check the Deals Section for a Misty Ankh (acquire Resist magic, 6400 gold coins). Remember to bug the weapon seller for a Silver Spear (9000 gold coins) too. If you bug the item seller, you can get the second Power Undies (5 gold coins). For the next battle, you should stock up on some Antidote Herbs and have Eldar on your party... exit the town and cross the small bridge.
Enemies:
* Appear during battle. Beware their extremely damaging poison attacks. Items to find on this battlefield: - Zero Wing - inspect one of the trees by the lake on left (only Eldar can reach it). Once you
defeat the boss, the chapter is finished.
"Intent on avenging his father's
death, Synbios
headed towards the town of Lookover in pursuit of the
Bulzome High Priest Fiale. There, at the ancient tower,
he caught up with the priest who murdered Conrad and
intended to do the same to Duke Palsis. He and his
friends defeated Fiale and rescued the Duke, who then
joined them on their journey. Palsis told Synbios the truth about his great father,
which renewed and strengthed the young man's commitment
to continue his father's mission. To restore peace to the
Republic, they must hurry on to Malorie, where Synbios' sister Margaret and her noble
husband live. Meanwhile, the Empire moves forward with
its invasion of the Republic's heartland."
