After
watching the conversation in the Headquarters and Aspia
Castle, you'll be free to walk around. Note that inside
the castle some treasure chests are locked and you can't
open them. Before leaving:
- Small Mithril - inspect a
barrel inside the castle.
Once you
try to leave, Braff (general Fafhard's son) will talk to
you and ask you if you're heading to Storich. Now it's up
to you to tell him the truth ("Yes") or lie
("No"), I think it won't change anything.
Outside, walking on the bridge, Zero and Eldar stop Synbios to ask him a
favor. Synbios accepts and Zero takes Kahn's Elbesem Orb to help Medion.

Horst
|
Once
you leave the castle, and cross the bridge, enter
the barracks and talk to Horst, the Gladiator. If you
want him to join you, just answer "Yes"
to his both questions. He is just like Obright, but is better using
maces and not axes. |
In the city, lots of items can be found:
- 05 gold coins - shelf in a
house.
- 40
gold coins - shelf in a house.
- Healing
Drop
- inspect barrel in a house.
- Large
Mithril - inside a box outside.
- Large
Mithril - inside treasure chest in the Item Shop.
- Large
Mithril - enter
the Inn and go upstairs. In the second floor, locate a
room with an old man and a boy. Enter it and leave: once
you go through the door, you will be facing a wall with a
window, right? Hit Synbios' face on the wall, turn right,
and walk one step. Inspect, you found it. - view screenshot!
- Power
Wine
- inspect barrel in the basement of the Inn.
- Small
Mithril - crate behind the barracks building.
You can
buy a
Saint Ankh (acquire Support magic) in the deals
section on Weapon Shop, and a Life Ring (for 3000 gold
coins) if you bug the item seller!
HINT:
There's a girl near the fountain that can be pushed
physically... If you push her to the red box between two
houses, she transforms to Penn and jumps on Synbios' head. This has
no use at all, it's just for the fun. :)
Now exit
the city using the gate near the church, and head to
Storich.
This
battle has a small glitch: have Eldar to fly over the
central mountain in the battlefield, until you find a
spot you can "Inspect", but no item is found!
Seems like a programming bug, that is present in the US,
UK and JP versions of the game.

Penn
|
You'll find the city a bit
destroyed, but at least not totally thanks to Synbios' forces
arrival. Here you can talk to Penn, if you
do he will join the force (he will not be here if
you did't hatch the Large Egg
previously). He will be only at Level 1 before
promotion, and needs a lot of effort to gain
levels. |
There are a lot of items to be found, they
are:
- 50 gold coins - shelf in a
house.
- Armor
Milk
- inside crate in a house.
- Desert
Ruins Map - inside chest in old man's house.
- Large
Mithril - inside chest in a house.
- Large
Mithril - in
front of the HQ. To find it, enter the HQ, then leave it.
Now, align the camera using "Y", and make
Synbios walk one step pressing "Down". Inspect
and find it (strangely enough, he will only inspect if
he's in that exact position, and not by looking in other
directions). - view screenshot
- Small
Mithril - inspect right corner of the counter in
the bar. - view screenshot
Again,
you can use the buy trick in the shops to get special
items. Bug the item merchant until she sells you the Loincloth for only 8 gold
coins, and the weapon seller will offer you a Mithril Claw.
I believe
it is not possible to access the other side of the town,
so there's nothing left to do here. Now, head to the exit
of the city and prepare to another battle.
You
must win this battle to enter the Volcano Cave, and
finally reach Flagard. During the battle, you can access
a tomb to get various useful items. Be sure to do not
kill the boss outside until you get all the important
goodies.

Items inside tomb:
- Angel Wing - inside barrel, break it.
- Goddess
Tear
- inside barrel, break it.
- Heat
Axe -
inside locked treasure chest.
- Large
Mithril - inside locked treasure chest.
- Potion - inside locked
treasure chest.
- Small

Before
entering the cave:
|

Ratchet
|
After the battle, Ratchet, a male
Steam Knight, comes to talk to you and join the
force (note: he will appear only if you spoke to
him in the Vandal Mansion in Quonus, and also in
Vagabond). You may want to go back to
Storich and regroup or change party members, buy
items, etc. If Eldar is not in
the group, I advice you to put her in now: in the
next battle, she is the only character that can
reach a special item. Now, enter the cave and
prepare for the battle.
|
Inside
the cave, you will face the Baby Dragon. You may choose
one of the following strategies:
#1
(recommended) - Don't kill the Baby Dragon. Just ignore him
and have Synbios to reach the exit quickly. By
doing this, you will have access to a special room with
items on Scenario 2.
#2 (*not*
recommended) - Since the Baby Dragon is not the boss,
you may kill him since some other monster is alive, get
the Goddess
Tears
he will drop, then cast the Return spell. Now repeat the
process until you have lots of Goddess Tears, and also high
level characters. This is only recommended for those who
have no plans to play the Scenario 2. If you do this, a
big rock will block a room with items and Medion's army
will be unable to get them.
Items to
be found during battle:
- Dark Matter - inspect the
ground to the right, in the middle of the cave, like in
this screenshot.
- Large
Mithril - ground, near the point your party
starts. The location is pointed by the cursor in this screenshot
- Mithril
Dirk
- inside treasure chest (only Eldar is able to get
it).

Outside
the Volcano Cave:
|
Outside
the cave, Synbios
reaches Fafhard
and his troops before they destroy Flagard, Synbios' hometown. You must stop him at
any costs, so another battle take place.
Note: If you
cast the Return spell or use an Angel Wing in this battle, your party will
fly to the Storich church. When you make your way back,
you won't have to fight the Volcano Cave battle again,
whatever you killed or not the Baby Dragon. Then, don't worry about going to
Storich if you wish so.
You
will find yourself between two large troops. Hint: try to
defeat the troop near Aspia's gates before facing Fafhard and his army.

After the battle, Fiale, one of the Four High Priests of
Bulzome, kills Fafhard
and enters Flagard.

Frank
|
The
city will be completely desert. Only Frank, the Werewolf, will be
around in the town. He will join your group if
you push him into headquarters. He is able to
equip the same weapons as Irene and Kahn, but is
better using Claws. At this moment, it's a nice
idea to equip him the Mithril
Claw you should have found in Storich. There are
some items around to get:
|
- Large Mithril - inside well.
- Large
Mithril - treasure
chest in the Inn.
- Potion - inside another well.
- Small
Mithril - inspect a
fireplace in a house.
Note: If you
inspect the sign near the stones to the left, Penn will suddenly pop up and jump to
the air. This has no apparent use, but make it for the
fun anyway.
Once you're
done, go to the church, stand behind the altar and talk
to the Priest. He will reveal a secret passage that leads
to Flagard Fort. Now, all you have to do is inspect the
Republic Emblems until you find a secret door.
Enter the
Fort, you'll meet Fiale
and Lord Conrad.
HINT: Synbios will be distant from the others
when the battle starts. Have him to cast a Spark spell or
attack Fiale:
the High Priest will drop the Ship Key, an item that will affect other
Scenario. Now, you should cast Return or use an Angel Wing quickly, before Synbios is killed. Be sure also to hold
the item, and DO NOT store it in your HQ until the next
chapter starts, so Zero can get it (there seems to be a
bug where Zero won't get the Ship Key if it's in HQ!).
When you go
back to the battle, you'll have the item, so just
concentrate on the fight now. Fiale will escape before you kill him,
don't worry.

Flagard
Fort (after battle):
|
Lord Conrad (Synbios' father) dies, Masqurin cries loudly... A sad moment of
this Scenario. Unfortunatelly this is unavoidable.
"Synbios
and his compatriots returned to the Republic, where they
were greeted by both citizens and high officials happy to
see that they were safe. But not all, however, welcomed
them, and they received some frigid stares. The financial
crisis of the Republic caused internal turmoil in
Barrand. This severed the strong sense of unity among the
Republican regions, as some lords resorted to radical
activities. General Fafhard, whom they reluctantly fought
because of a misunderstanding, was defeated."
